Nurse at Roxbury Treatment Center treated for punches, bite after altercation with patient

18 January 2024- A dispute over new clothes sends a Lebanon, PA man to jail in Franklin County and a number of nurses to seek medical treatment. Colton Allen Snyder is charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault against designated individuals, two misdemeanor simple assault charges, and three citation harassment charges. Snyder is behind bars on $100,000 bail.

Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were dispatched to the Roxbury Treatment Center in Franklin County just after 11:30pm on January 17th for a reported active fight. The suspect was found by Troopers in his room after the fight and was quickly taken into custody without incident.

Interviews were subsequently conducted with staff, who painted a picture of the incident. Troopers say that they learned Snyder was visibly upset about needing new clothing but staff could not attend to him at that moment. Snyder then reportedly became loud and confrontational, eventually escalating to violence.

Leaving his room, Snyder allegedly pushed a staff member against the wall and punched them in the stomach multiple times. Snyder also reportedly spit on the victim’s face then bit him. Troopers say that they found bite marks on the victim as well as other evidence of a struggle. Staff and other patients at the facility managed to separate the victim from Snyder.

An interview with Snyder was conducted on the premises, with him allegedly admitting to having a physical altercation with the victim. Snyder reportedly told Troopers that he felt like he was being ignored when he became verbally frustrated and things escalated after some yelling.

Colton Snyder is behind bars on $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for January 30th.
