Norfolk Southern train hits man’s trailer in Marion with no injuries listed

30 June 2023- Police say a man failed to yield to a Norfolk Southern train in Guilford Township earlier this week in a crash that left the driver able to drive away from the scene. The name of the man involved has not been listed on Pennsylvania State Police filings but they say around 12:15pm on Tuesday, June 27th, he was driving a 2022 Chevy Silverado with a trailer when he failed to notice an incoming train.

The Silverado’s driver was traveling East on 3rd Street in Marion when it approached a railroad crossing. Police say that the driver failed to see the train approaching and its trailer was subsequently struck by the oncoming Norfolk Southern train. The trailer sustained heavy rear end damage but was able to be driven off the roadway by its accompanying driver.

Police say that the driver of the Silverado was wearing his seat belt and was uninjured during the incident. The train sustained minor damage and continued North, according to police.

The Chevrolet Silverado’s driver was cited by Pennsylvania State Police but, again, his name has not been released.
