Noise complaint in Greencastle allegedly leads to slurs, threats with a knife

25 April 2024- A man with no fixed address has been arrested in Greencastle following an interaction allegedly containing a knife and slurs. Iban Anthony Starr is behind bars on $35,000 bail after being charged with felony attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor disorderly conduct of unreasonable noise, and summary harassment.

Greencastle PD officers were dispatched initially to a location in the 200 block of E Franklin Street for a reported unwanted person that was outside a business on April 24th. GPD officers quickly located Iban Starr, who they say has no fixed address.

Speaking to the victim, officers allegedly learned that Starr was outside the business and playing loud music for about 20 minutes and disrupting business. When the victim, who is possibly the business owner, approached Starr, GPD say that the latter walked towards him and calling him a “f***ing N*****”. Starr then allegedly pulled out a folding knife and brandished it towards the victim. 911 was quickly called and Starr was taken into custody.

Greencastle PD say that when Starr was taken into custody, a folding knife was located on him.

Iban Starr remains behind bars in Franklin County.
