28 February 2023- On 02-28-2023 at approximately 9:00 PM the Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to Keystone Behavior Health due to a report of a doctor holding people at gunpoint. Upon officers arriving in the area there were found to be employees in an adjacent business who reported they did not observe anything that would cause them to be alarmed. Checks of the Keystone Behavior Health building were conducted, and it was found to be empty of any people.
Further investigation revealed the source of the original information was likely suffering from mental health issues and there was found to be no threat to the public. Shippensburg Police assisted with checking the welfare of the person who made the original report to get them any help they might need.
