Newville PD say crash in borough last month was caused by a driver with .332% BAC

09 July 2024- A Perry County man has been charged with DUI and other charges after a crash in Newville last month.

On 6/20/2024 at approximately 10:57hrs Newville Police were advised of a recent crash in the area of 109 S. High Street. Upon arrival to the scene, a grey 2009 Toyota Camry was observed off the roadway behind some shrubbery. The car was perched on top of a flower bed with the front wheels off the ground. Police made contact with the operator who was identified as Sean Romano (45) of Duncannon, PA.

While making contact with the driver, his eyes were observed to be red and glassy. Romano was also having trouble with his balance on this sloped crash area. Standard Field Sobriety exercises were performed in another area. Subsequently, Romano was taken in to custody for suspicion of DUI. Romano was transported to Carlisle Regional Medical Center for a legal blood draw.

Newville Police recently received blood results which reported a blood alcohol concentration of .332%. Romano is charged with DUI General Impairment, DUI Highest Rate, and Driving on Roadways laned for traffic.
