14 July 2023- Pennsylvania State Police haven’t released the name of the man who died in an evening crash on July 11th but have released details of the crash. Police responded to the 2000 Block of Ritner Highway in West Pennsboro around 7pm to find a 2004 Hyundai Accent that had crashed into multiple trees and a utility pole.
Police describe the driver as a 26 year old Newville man and say that he was pronounced dead at the scene. During the crash, the victim’s vehicle exited its lane of travel on US-11 and began to drift off the right side of the roadway. The car began to skid until it struck an embankment then a utility pole, causing the pole to shear off. The car continued to travel through multiple trees where it had rolled over and spun until it came to a final rest in a private driveway.
Pennsylvania State Police from the Carlisle Barracks responded to the scene, as well as the Cumberland County Coroner’s office, Cumberland Goodwill EMS, Friendship Hose Fire Company, and PP&L Utility.
