New polling from Fox News shows Biden trailing Trump

February 15 – A new poll out shows President Joe Biden trailing former President Donald Trump in both Michigan and North Carolina.

In Michigan, Biden is trailing by two points – it’s a state Biden won by three points in 2020.

The Israel/Hamas war has been tough for Biden in Michigan because Democrat sympathies are split between Israelis and Palestinians.

Marianne Rafferty of Fox News said, “However, voters overall in the state say they trust the former president by about eight points to do a better job in handling the conflict.”

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM suggested, “Don’t get at all comfortable with anything that you hear in polling. Trump has been treated like he’s 20 points behind and Joe Biden’s running away with this. Ignore the polling. Ignore the press narrative. As you already know, the press narratives and the fake news and the mainstream media don’t think for a hot second that they’re not going oh, let’s get that battle going on here. Oh, but Biden’s in trouble. Not a chance. We have to act as if that is not the case because it probably isn’t.”

Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “It amplifies the point that there really are about four or five states that will determine the outcome of this election. Pennsylvania is one of those states and that’s why you’re now seeing as we get into campaign season, polls more targeted to these four or five swing states that will control the outcome. I still don’t see how the Democratic Party moves forward with nominating Joe Biden as president. We will see this summer. I still think there is a chance and maybe a good chance that something happens at the convention that the Democrats find an off ramp for him and they nominate another candidate because all of these metrics that keep coming out, I just don’t see what the path is for him. Yes, there’s a long time between now and November but his biggest problem is age. That’s not going to change. Unlike the economy or other world events, those things can go up and down. There’s nothing he can do about his age and these cognitive issues that keep showing up in the polls.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM noted, “We’re supposed to be a nation of laws, not a nation of men and unfortunately these elections have become about the person and the personality and the qualities of that person as to whether we’re saying who might win the presidency. This is insane. You put another Democrat in there, I don’t care if it’s Joe Biden, or Michelle Obama, or Gavin Newsom, those policies won’t change and actually with Michelle Obama they may get a lot worse. She’s a horrific progressive. She thinks all this lawless open borders is great. What I don’t understand is how we have gotten away from understanding the party’s going to go forward with certain policies and you better pay attention to which party you’re actually putting into power.”

Barkdoll said, “The dilemma here for Republicans, as I’ve said, if you’re a Trump supporter, you want Biden to be the candidate because if the Democrats replace him, odds are very great that almost any other nominee is going to win this race.”

The Wall Street Journal’s lead editorial on Saturday suggested three names for the Democratic National Convention to consider:  Gavin Newsom, Governor of California; Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan; and Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania.

Barkdoll said, “That’s the first I’ve seen his name showing up in a national outlet like that with a suggestion that he be the nominee. The angle, of course they’re looking at with Michigan or Pennsylvania, those are two of those four or five very key states that if you’re going to get to the White House, you’re going to have to win those states.”

Jansen said, “Josh Shapiro would be no less a puppet than Joe Biden. You’d have the Little Big Man in there glorying in his position. He would be no less of a puppet than doddering Joe Biden. That’s my take on it.”

Ryan suggested, “It’s easy to reposition Michelle Obama, Gavin Newsom, who has done a great job in killing California. Gretchen Whitmer, what she did with the COVID and unveiling all of that stuff again. I mean, Shapiro would probably be a good vice president. He at least certainly would have a little bit more out of his mouth than the current occupant vice president.”

Jansen said, “I have no idea what Shapiro stands for. He just seems to go for whatever the moment gets him the elevation to whatever next office he’s going for.”

Ryan said, “He stands for school choice right up until it’s time to actually do something about school choice. The little weak thing that he is here.”

Barkdoll said, “I think it’s pure geography with Whitmer and Shapiro because again, if let’s say Michigan and Pennsylvania are basically tied, these are purple states, might tip the scales a bit if they had someone on the ticket from one of those states. I mean, Shapiro’s only been in office for about a year. Whitmer had all kinds of issues and criticism regarding the way she handled COVID. So I think it boils down to pure geography. But again, I don’t know where this goes. I mean, we’ve never had a cycle like this where and I’ve said this repeatedly, we have the two most unpopular candidates in US presidential history with Trump and Biden, but yet the parties seem unable to shake these guys. I mean, the train is just moving down the tracks that as it is now it’s going to be Trump versus Biden. 2.0 but might something happen at the conventions of that altar?”

PA Representative Rob Kauffman said, “It’s just a lot of window dressing. That’s really what it is. But the reality is, folks, you got to understand those names that were brought up, he’s probably the best name because he doesn’t have the baggage of being the chief executive, what happened in the mess in California, the mess in Michigan. He has a lot of press releases about getting you-know-what done, so, hey, this could be the card to play.”

Ryan added, “I see Michelle Obama and Josh Shapiro. That’s what I see. President and vice president. That’s what I see right there.”

Jansen said, “He’s an empty suit, and he just puts his finger up in the air and whatever way the wind is blowing benefits Josh Shapiro. I don’t see any conviction. Where’s the things he’s passionate about? He’ll spend us into oblivion like California to achieve ideals that are just absurd and never consider the negative, unintended consequences.”

Kauffman asked, “When are people going to learn that when it comes to the Democrat Party, it’s not necessarily the person you’re seeing, it’s the apparatus behind it. Who is running the country? It’s not Joe Biden. He’s an old man with memory issues.”

Ryan added, “And he’s too much of a coward and rightly so he’s the worst president in the history of the country. He’s a career politician and he’s got no legacy at all. He’ll be forever remembered as the air handshake that got us into a whole bunch of proxy wars. Nice job. We didn’t have that with the last guy. All you Democrats out there that demanded we have the cognitive test with the last guy, he took it and he passed it in flying colors. This coward, he doesn’t want to take it and he doesn’t want to take it because the truth would be, it’s already bad enough out there after last Thursday right now.”

Kauffman said, “Just understand. Things are running themselves, the administrative state. It’s the Obama folks who were left in charge behind the scenes. They’re running it and they will continue to be the ones running it. But now there would actually be an Obama out front. So exactly the same policies, if not worse, would happen because if they get re-elected after this train wreck, it’s going to be crazy on steroids.

Jansen noted, “So much is already cemented into that apparatus, the administrative state. It’s going to take somebody with a completely opposite point of view from what’s going on right now to get in there and just start cleaning it out. I don’t think in four years you’d even be able to do that because you’ve got the expert-ocracy and they have the narrative and they have the media and now they’re kind of censoring the social media to keep supporting that same narrative we’re finding out.”

Ryan added, “And don’t forget the millions of unvetted, illegal immigrants, who knows what sleeper cells are running around out there? Who knows what’s going to happen and how is one man or one administration going to clean up what was done to America by this, the worst president in the history of the United States?”

Jansen said, “They’re trumpeting all the job growth, but it turns out the job growth is among the people who’ve come in here illegally. That’s where the job growth is. It’s not in Native Americans. That remained flat. So there’s a problem here. That cheaper, less skilled labor, whom we’re going to have to take care of more and more with services. It’s just a socialist dream, and it’s spiraling the United States closer and closer to that reality.”
