09 August 2023- It seems like a family can count themselves as lucky when a gun goes off inside of their Chambersburg home during an armed burglary. Angel Adonis Robles-Montero is charged with felony burglary, misdemeanor terroristic threats, two counts of misdemeanor simple assault, and three counts of misdemeanor reckless endangerment. Robles-Montero was denied bail by MDJ Manns, with the latter saying “No bail conditions available to ensure the safety of the victims”.
Chambersburg PD officers were called to a home on E King Street in the borough around 5:40am on August 6th for an active robbery. It was reported initially that a Hispanic male had unlawfully entered the home with a firearm.
When police arrived they learned from one of the victims that the burglar had already left, as well as the fact his name was Angel Robles-Montero. Robles-Montero was identified as one of the victim’s ex-boyfriends.
Prior to the attempted burglary, the victim allegedly received 16 phone calls from Robles-Montero from 5:02am to 5:32am. About five minutes after the final call, Robles-Montero entered the home through an side window and reportedly pointed a firearm directly at the bed. Three victims were in the bed at this time and they immediately jumped and tried to restrain Robles-Montero after seeing the gun.
Two of the victims reportedly had a physical altercation with Robles-Montero, causing both of them to get hit in the face by him, as well as one of the victims being bit by Robles-Montero. While wrestling for the gun, Robles-Montero allegedly pulled the trigger and fired a round into the room, with the bullet going through a bedframe, TV, interior wall, and eventually stopping inside a brick wall.
After the gunshot, Robles-Montero had the gun taken away from him, with him then allegedly threating to kill the person who took the gun as well as everyone else in the home. Robles-Montero then fled the home prior to the arrival of CPD.
Angel Robles-Montero was denied bail and is currently lodged in Franklin County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for August 22nd.
