NC man charged with trying to scam over $3,000 from Saint Thomas skill games

06 May 2024- A North Carolina man is free after posting bail following multiple alleged thefts against a Saint Thomas, PA gas station. Adam Scott Magid is charged with three felony counts of theft by deception and was given a bail of $5,000. Magid posted bail through a local bail bondsman.

Just before 8pm on April 29th, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to an active theft at a gas station on Lincoln Way West in Saint Thomas. Troopers say that, per their initial dispatch, two men were scamming money from “slot machines” on the property, which are likely PA Games of Skill.

Troopers say that when they arrived, a Toyota Rav4 with NC plates was parked out front and registered to Adam Magid of Indian Trail, NC. Upon entering the gas station, Troopers spoke to Magid and his compatriot. Magid allegedly told Troopers that he was about an hour from his destination and was playing the slots on the way. He did, however, reportedly admit to having a key that bypasses the “slot machines” and readily gave the key up. During the incident, Magid allegedly won three separate times, totaling $3,020.

Adam Magid is free after posting bail of $5,000. His next hearing is set for May 14th.
