Meth, LSD, more allegedly found during traffic stop for broken brake light in McConnellsburg

28 May 2024- A McConnellsburg Borough man is behind bars today after being charged with drug possession and more earlier this month. Samuel Joseph Huber failed to post bail of $50,000 after being charged with felony possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and two traffic violations. He remains behind bars in Bedford County Prison on agreement with Fulton County.

Pennsylvania State Police were in the area of E Maple Street in McConnellsburg Borough on May 21st when they allegedly found a vehicle with an inoperable brake light. After pulling the Ford F-150 over, Troopers say that the truck additionally had no inspection sticker on it whatsoever. After allegedly spotting multiple prescription pill bottles beside the driver, who was identified as Samuel Huber. Due to conflicting stories between the passenger and driver, Troopers asked for permission to search the vehicle. They were denied, but after a Chambersburg PD K9 alerted Troopers to drugs potentially being in the vehicle, they were given probable cause to search it.

A brown leather bag was found on the floor boards to the right of the driver, in which PSP say they found 5 bags of suspected methamphetamine, a bag of suspected LSD, a meth pipe, two straws with residue, a silver spoon, a glass container with drug residue, a tourniquet, multiple baggies, and syringes. Additionally, Troopers found a scale with suspected drug residue in it in the same bag.

After discovery, Troopers say Huber denied ownership of the contents but admitted to placing the bag in his truck earlier in the day. The stop, PSP say, occurred within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Samuel Huber remains behind bars on $50,000 bail.
