19 February 2024- A Mercersburg area man is facing nearly a dozen charges after allegedly assaulting a number of his family members in a domestic incident. Jeremy Ray Hornbaker is charged with three misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, four misdemeanor counts of assault, and three summary counts of harassment by physical contact. PSP Troopers were dispatched to a home on Punch Bowl Road, Montgomery Township on February 15th for a physical altercation between family members. Troopers learned enroute that Jeremy Hornbaker had knocked his father to the ground and kicked him multiple times prior to the call. Additionally, Hornbaker was outside the home, was wearing no clothes, and was waiving a knife around threatening three other family members.

After arriving on scene, Troopers also allegedly learned that Hornbaker had pushed another family member to the ground, possibly causing a head injury when they hit a rock on the way down. After a number of alleged assaults, Hornbaker was separated from his family and put in another room of the home while police and EMS were dispatched.

After putting the elder Hornbaker in an ambulance bound for Chambersburg Hospital, PSP moved to arrest Jeremy Hornbaker. Troopers say they found hi inside a bedroom, laying on a bed, and refusing to respond to Troopers. He was taken into custody without incident and exercised his right to remain silent.

Jeremy Hornbaker remains behind bars on $10,000 bail. Court filings do not report the status of his father after a visit to the hospital.
