McConnellsburg man charged with illegal possession of a firearm, making threats against woman

05 June 2023- A McConnellsburg man who previously pleaded guilty to felony burglary is charged after allegedly threating woman with his illegal firearm. Dustin Joseph Miller is charged with felony possession of a firearm prohibited and misdemeanor terroristic threats. Miller is behind bars on $25,000 bail.

On April 25th, Pennsylvania State Police began a report dealing with Dustin Miller allegedly sending a picture of a firearm to a female victim. Police allege that Miller violated a PFA against him by the victim and had sent a picture of a gun through Snapchat during an argument while texting.

Troopers interviewed the victim by phone, with her allegedly telling them that on April 23rd, she and Miller had been texting each other on and off throughout the day due to ongoing relationship issues but Miller eventually sent her a picture of a “black with brown wooden handle” firearm.

Fulton County Sheriff’s were contacted by PSP, with the first telling Troopers that they were assigned to serve Miller a PFA on the 24th, one day after the Snap conversation. The Sheriff’s Department was subsequently made aware of a firearm that Miller was potentially in possession of, but that Miller allegedly denied. Sheriff’s deputies then went to the residence of the person that Miller was staying at and located the firearm that matched the description of the previously mentioned photograph. The gun was subsequently seized.

In court filings, relevant authorities show that on July 4th, 2015, Miller pleaded guilty to felony burglary, thus he was ineligible to own a firearm.

Miller is behind bars on $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for June 26th.
