17 February 2023- Since his introduction as the chairman of the Senate Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Committee, Senator Doug Mastriano has been hands on in terms of pushing legislation through the committee and working through issues as the state remains in gridlock. Mastriano this week announces he will host a hearing in Beaver County and visit Beaver County to survey the affected areas in Pennsylvania since Norfolk Southern’s train derailment just over the border in Ohio.

Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33), chairman of the Senate Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will be traveling on Feb. 17-18 to the areas impacted by the Norfolk Southern train derailment and chemical burn.
Mastriano plans to meet with officials in Beaver County and the surrounding region in preparation for a joint committee hearing he will co-host on this issue at the Community College of Beaver County on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m.
The public is invited to the hearing and testimony is anticipated from Norfolk Southern, state and local officials, and affected citizens.
