Man in stable condition at ICU after being run over by truck at Greencastle Sunnyway

13 March 2024- Greencastle PD have issued the following statement following an incident around 6am on Wednesday that saw a man be sent to the ICU.


On March 13, 2024 at about 0557hrs, Greencastle Police responded to Sunnyway Foods to assist The Rescue Hose Company ambulance with a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival at the scene, EMS was treating the victim, later identified as Julio Valesquez , a 58-year-old male with no fixed address. Mr. Valesquez was conscious but not coherent to relay specific information related to his injuries. Valesquez was transported to Meritus Hospital by EMS.

The investigation revealed that the victim was lying under a Sunnyway Foods delivery truck. Mr. VALESQUEZ appeared to be laying just in front of the rear passenger tires. The employee came into work and departed the rear area of the store to load up his work for the day.

The operator stated that he thought he had run something over, stopped the truck and looked but did not see anything. Mr. VALESQUEZ is in stable condition in the ICU of Meritus Hospital.
