Man Charged In Alleged Dual Highway Crime Spree

HAGERSTOWN – A man is charged with robbery and attempted arson following an alleged two-day crime spree on Dual Highway. 


Michael Anthony Carotenuto, 49, reportedly robbed  Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, and M&T Bank.


Hagerstown Police said they responded to a report of a robbery in progress Monday at the Dairy Queen shortly before 6:00 p.m. A short time later they received a report of a robbery in progress at Taco Bell. 


The next day, police were dispatched to M&T Bank located at 930 Dual Hwy for another reported robbery. 


Carotenuto was arrested shortly after the bank robbery. 


Michael Carotenuto is currently being held without bond at The Washington County Detention Center. He is facing three counts of armed robbery, three counts of threats of arson, and numerous other charges.
