Man arrested for dating violence, burglary in Waynesboro

06 February 2023- A man that police say has no fixed address is behind bars after allegedly breaking into his ex’s apartment and destroying it. Racquez Shireek Warfield is charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespassing, misdemeanor trespassing, misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor criminal mischief. Warfield is behind bars on $25,000 bail.

On December 29th, police were dispatched to a home on North Church Street in Waynesboro for reports of an active domestic. Arriving, the police allegedly found the victim on her couch, saying that her ex-boyfriend had broken in and destroyed her apartment. Police allegedly found the living room and kitchen in complete disarray with cabinets pulled out and damaged. The wooden door frame was broken with a piece of it on the living room floor. Personal effects were found in the flower bed out front. Additionally, the bedroom had blinds ripped off and vegetable oil was poured over the sheets.

Interviews with the victim found that Warfield had allegedly been trespassing at her apartment complex before approaching the victim and allegedly dragging her inside. He then allegedly destroyed the apartment. Police received picture verification that he had called the victim as well.

Warfield is behind bars on $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for February 14th.
