Man already charged with Chambersburg Courthouse bomb threat now facing vehicle theft allegations

06 May 2024- The man who Chambersburg PD say called in the bomb threat to the Franklin County Courthouse is now facing new charges following an investigation into a stolen vehicle. Jason Matthew Rogers is charged with felony theft and felony receiving stolen property. He remains behind bars, this time on an additional bail of $60,000.

Chambersburg PD were initially involved in the investigation into the Rogers Brothers, Jason and Chadwin, following a bomb threat being called into the Franklin County Courthouse on April 10th. Pennsylvania State Police were contacted the next day when a caller reported a missing vehicle from her home on Doron Drive.

Troopers say that the victim told them that Jason Roger, her brother-in-law, had taken her white 2013 Toyota Highlander the day prior without her permission. PSP say that she was made aware of the theft because Jason Rogers was actively running from police for the previously mentioned bomb threat.

A day later on April 12th, around 10:45am, the vehicle was found by Washington County, Maryland Sheriffs with Jason Rogers still inside of it. He was taken into custody shortly thereafter and eventually extradited back to Pennsylvania. It appears that Roger had not gotten far and was quickly apprehended like his brother, who was taken into custody the same week.

Jason Rogers remains behind bars on $60,000 new bail as well as being denied bail for his previous charges.
