Looking for a fun filled Saturday for the young ones? Touch a Truck comes to Hagerstown’s City Park!

09 May 2024- The City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Division welcomes you to visit the City Park Train Hub Site & Museum on Saturday, May 11 from 10:00am – 2:00 pm for the first annual Touch a Truck & Train event in City Park!

This new FREE event provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to come to explore the vehicles they’ve seen on City streets, in movies, books, and driving around town! Climb on, honk a horn, and “drive” a variety of trucks like a dump truck, fire engine, backhoe and train! Sponsored by Hagerstown Community College, Republic Services, Flight Fiber by Antietam Broadband, and AmeriServ Bank.

During the event, explore many trucks, trains and equipment on display courtesy of all of our great City of Hagerstown Departments including Public Works, Parks, Water and Wastewater, Light, Police and Fire!

Event goers will also enjoy free family friendly activities including music, face painting, and balloons for kids. Tommy 202, our children’s tractor wagon train, will be on site giving rides to children during the event.  Concessions will be provided by Nena’s Café. Inside the Museum, kids will enjoy visiting our gift shop and model train displays will be featured during the event.

Parking is available throughout City Park, along Highland Ave and City Park Drive. Access will be restricted along the gravel road leading to the softball fields due to the oversized and emergency vehicles on display. A limited number of handicap accessible parking will be available at the event located at 770 City Park Drive.

This season, visit the City Park Train Hub to discover, explore, and play as visitors climb aboard retired historic railroad vehicles including a caboose and steam locomotive engine 202, train themed playground equipment, and to learn why Hagerstown is called the “Hub City.”  The site is open for the park season Fridays & Saturdays, 10:00am – 4:00pm. Standard admission rates apply unless stated otherwise. View the calendar of events online at www.cityparktrainhub.org or follow on Facebook at City Park Train Hub.
