Light It Up contest winners announced

GREENCASTLE– With some stiff competition in the mix, the 2020 Heritage Christmas Light It Up Contest, sponsored by Antrim Insurance Agency, Inc., has generated over $1,000 for the Greencastle-Antrim Food Pantry.

Each year the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce organizes the contest by requesting participation from G-A residents who decorate the exterior of their homes for the Christmas season. This year sixteen homes in the Greencastle-Antrim area registered for the contest which ran from December 1 through December 20. During that time, community members were encouraged to vote for their favorite home at $1 per vote.

In total, $1,034.00 dollars were raised.

Topping the list with the most votes is the Helman/Vulgamo home at 14038 Ridge Road, Waynesboro, with the Atherton home at 52 E. Franklin St. coming in a close second.

Among the other top winners were the Wilson home at 13218 Gearhart Road and the Doubleday home at 431 W. Baltimore St.

“Driving around town to look at Christmas lights is a Christmas tradition many families enjoy year after year,” said G-ACC Executive Director Valerie Meyers. “We’re so grateful for the many participants who decorated their homes and to the community members who contributed funds by voting. It’s a fun and friendly competition for a worthy cause.”
