Know a middle schooler who may want to be a police officer? Join Hagerstown PD’s Junior Academy in June!

25 May 2024- If you have a school-age child or grandchild that might be interested in becoming a police officer, listen up! The Hagerstown Police Department is excited to announce their 2024 Junior Police Academy, open to upcoming 7th and 8th grader!

Students can pick up applications at the HPD front desk as well as at Northern Middle School, Western Heights Middle School, and E. Russell Hicks Middle Schools across the city. 7th and 8th graders that attend school outside the city limits, as well as home schoolers, are also welcome to apply. There is no fee associated with the application!

HPD says they’ll select a maximum of 20 students to take part in a variety of activities to include mock crime scene processing, courthouse tours, meet the mayor, getting an overall view of HPD, and much more. The courses run from 8am to 3pm each day from June 17-June 20th.
