August 1 — A recent poll has shown Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has ranked quite low in his performance — or lack thereof.
This news has resulted in a number of people thinking, well, duh.
Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM pointed out, “We wouldn’t have the problems with Fetterman if the media had done their job and they had stepped in on the incompetence of this guy in the first place. But let’s break your legs and then hand you crutches, and now you have the direct results of someone who never, ever should have been there in the first place.”
John Fetterman had a stroke shortly before the Primary Elections in Pennsylvania and yet the electorate still voted him in in November.
Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “He’s only been in office for about six months. He has another five and a half years left on this term. This is a morning consult poll that was released last night. Fetterman has among the lowest approval ratings of any US senator in the Senate. Mitch McConnell and Joe Manchin are in that group as well. So are Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins and Ron Johnson.”
Fetterman’s disapproval rating is at 43 percent.
Barkdoll noted, “Which is a very high number of disapproval for a freshman senator and he’s got five and a half years to go. Unfortunately, I think his numbers will continue to deteriorate because he’s forced to keep just such a low profile due to all of these apparent medical issues that he’s still dealing with.”
Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM added, “Despite the glowing articles that the media puts out, and this is my criticism, now of these polls, how much is real and how much is a picture painted by the media? I think sometimes like with Fetterman, it’s just so obvious. Lindsey Graham. I wonder about some of the other names on here. Ted Cruz, is he really that unpopular? Or is it because the press makes him a punching bag and a far right extremist constantly in their articles? I think we have to be really careful to understand we don’t have a fair and objective media anymore, as obvious from reporting on what happened with the Hunter Biden thing. You turn on Democrat channels this morning, all you hear is first thing up, oh, the worker for Trump is saying that he told them to erase tapes and oh, Trump might be arrested again. You don’t even hear a story right off the bat. And from the right hand media that’s the first story out of their mouths. I just don’t understand how we can trust things anymore when we don’t have an objective media that actually reports on things.”
Barkdoll said, “You wonder if any of these polls, how accurate they are and certainly the media influences these things greatly. You would think we’re in two different worlds if you just flip around the cable cable channels at night. The conservative outlets are reporting one thing, the liberal outlets are reporting another thing, and I think the problem is people getting into these silos. They continue to gravitate towards the sources that already align with their preexisting belief, and it just keeps hardening those beliefs. It’s very hard to discern well, what really is the news? What’s the truth? Where’s the middle ground here? Because we seem to be getting really far away in the US media landscape.”
