HAGERSTOWN – On Wednesday, November 25th, there was a partial building collapse at the Hamilton Hotel at the corner of Washington Street and Jonathan Street. Due the height and proximity of the building to the street, a temporary street closure has been implemented while efforts are made to stabilize the building.
Effective immediately, Jonathan Street is closed to traffic between Washington Street and Wareham Alley. Motorists approaching the closure will be forced to detour via other City streets, and will encounter barrels, barricades, and other traffic control devices as they approach the area. This closure will remain in place indefinitely.Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through this section of Jonathan Street while the closure is in effect.
