How many times can you drive on a suspended license until you’re sent to jail? It appears at least seven in PA

30 May 2024- A man with multiple addresses is behind bars in Chambersburg today after being charged with DUI, traffic violations, and driving on a suspended license. Jamie Lee Worthington is charged with misdemeanor DUI, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license on a sixth or subsequent offense, and nine traffic violations. Worthington failed to post bail of $25,000.

Troopers initially pulled over a tan 2001 Honda Odyssey near the intersection of Lincoln Way East and S Third Street in the borough of Chambersburg before 8am on May 27th. The stop, initially for a suspended vehicle registration, eventually became a stop for DUI after the driver was found to have slurred speech and alcohol coming from his breath. That driver was identified as Jamie Worthington.

Troopers say that the inspection sticker on the vehicle was found to have been almost a year out of date, with Worthington also allegedly having no registration card, no driver’s license, and no proof of insurance. Additionally, during the stop, Troopers say Worthington littered multiple cigarettes on the roadway. He was taken into custody for a legal blood draw on suspicion of DUI.

Further investigation by PSP found that Worthington had an active arrest warrant out of Cumberland County relating to a prior guilty plea in a case of misdemeanor theft. Worthington has also been cited for driving with his license suspended six previous times, making the most recent experience his seventh of such offense if found guilty.

Jamie Worthington is behind bars on $25,000 bail.
