Hope for the best, prepare for the worst- make sure you know how to prep for weather disasters and more!

26 June 2024- You’re invited to join members of the Berkeley County Office of Emergency Management as they share best practices and ideas to prepare your family for emergency situations.

As once-in-a-generation weather events, mass casualty events, and other spills and issues seem to become increasingly familiar to everyone, now is the time to plan how you and yours can not just survive but thrive.

The Berkeley County Office of Emergency Management would like to invite members of the community to attend a free Family Emergency Preparedness class on Thursday, July 11th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Company, 7556 Winchester Ave., Inwood, WV. This event is free and open to the public.

  • Participants will learn about how to get emergency notifications, how to create an emergency family plan, emergency kit, and home evacuation plan.  Tips for sheltering in place and generator safety will also be included.
  • Participants will receive a Resources List with links to reliable information, educational videos, and fillable forms to assist in preparing for both man-made and natural emergencies.

Please share this invitation with your family, friends, and neighbors.
