CHAMBERSBURG – Wednesday, 24 January 2023 at 9:24 pm, the Chambersburg Police Department responded to the intersection of S Second St at E Mckinley St for a pedestrian accident.
The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was located by Pennsylvania State Police, and the driver was taken into custody. The driver was identified as Edio Estuardo-Melendrez, of Hagerstown MD.
The pedestrian was transported for medical treatment with non-life-threatening injuries. Estuardo-Melendrez was charged with Accidents involving death or personal injury, a felony of the third degree, and transported to Franklin County Jail.
