Hit & Run

CHAMBERSBURG – Chambersburg Police responded to the intersection of Queen St. and S. Main St. for a report of an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a dark colored sedan (possibly dark blue) was traveling east on W. Queen St. while a male juvenile riding a bicycle was traveling south on the sidewalk along S. Main St. As the sedan was traveling east and reached the intersection with S. Main St., the juvenile entered the roadway and impacted the driver side of the sedan. The driver of the sedan continued on and failed to remain at the scene of the accident. The sedan was last seen traveling north on N. Second St. (Route 11 north). The juvenile male was transported to the Chambersburg Hospital for further medical evaluation for what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Anyone with information that might help identify the vehicle owner or driver is asked to contact the Chambersburg Borough Police Department or submit a tip on Crimewatch
