Hazy, Hot, and Humid: storms with winds up to 70mph forecasted for late today

26 June 2024- Multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms are in the forecast from the National Weather Service today, Wednesday June 26th. This has triggered a heads up from the Fulton County Emergency Management Agency, Washington County Government, and many others around the tristate area.

High heat and humidity is set to combine for multiple rounds of potentially damaging thunderstorms late in the day on Wednesday

The Washington County Office of Emergency Management is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary. Stay safe with these tips:

  • Secure outdoor objects that could become projectiles in high winds.
  • Avoid using electrical appliances and avoid running water during a thunderstorm.
  • Seek shelter in a sturdy building away from windows.
  • If you’re driving, pull over safely and stay inside your vehicle

Severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and into the evening. Thunderstorm severity will be conditional on morning clouds & rain. The primary hazard with these storms will be damaging winds gusts, but hail and isolated flooding are also possible.
