Hagerstown PD investigating two weekend drive-by shootings, nobody hurt

17 June 2024- On 6/15/24 at about 10:40pm, Officers of the Hagerstown Police Department responded to the area of Jonathan St and Murph Ave for a report of shots fired. Responding officers discovered that multiple shots had been fired at that location as well as in the area of Jonathan St and North Ave. Officers were able to determine that the shots were fired from inside a black sedan.

While investigating, the Washington County Emergency Communications Center advised that there was an unoccupied black sedan on fire on Jameson Dr., a short distance from the shooting scenes. The Hagerstown Fire Department responded to the scene of the car fire. Officers were later able to determine that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Baltimore City and it was the same vehicle involved in the shooting in the Jonathan St area. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.  

Officers recovered multiple shell casings in the Jonathan St area and also discovered that two parked unoccupied vehicles had been hit by gunfire. There are no reports of gunshot victims.  
This is an active and ongoing investigation. There is no further information to be released at this time.

Additionally, on 6/16/24 at about 9:50pm Officers of the Hagerstown Police Department responded to the area of the 500 block of W. Church St for a report of shots fired. On arrival, officers located numerous shell casings and discovered that unoccupied vehicles had been struck. There are no reports of victims struck by gunfire.
