8 August 2023- Greencastle PD and other local law enforcement invite kids and their families to participate in their Annual “Fish with a Cop” event at the Greencastle Sportsman’s Association next month. Saturday, September 16th marks the department’s sixth annual event and will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm with a rain date of September 17th.
GPD say they’re looking to introduce youth to the local police officers and at the same time create lifelong memories for them. Through the event, Greencastle PD hopes that they will then see the police in a different light and create a lasting positive relation amongst the community.
Participants will learn about skills, equipment, techniques, and safety of freshwater fishing in Pennsylvania. At the same time, participants will be mentored by a local law enforcement officer.
Children between the ages of 7-17 are invited to participate in this event. Registration is limited to the first 75 applicants.
