Greencastle man charged with child porn, tech charges

03 April 2024- A Greencastle Borough man is facing a number of different child porn charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he turned over a phone containing child sexual abuse material. Jesse Lee Dehart is charged with four felony counts of child porn possession and one felony count of criminal use of a communications facility. Dehart is free on an unsecured bail of $100,000.

Pennsylvania State Police were initially alerted to possible child sexual abuse material being uploaded to cloud servers in August of 2022. PSP say that a Dropbox account with an associated Gmail address had uploaded a file all the way back on August 21st, 2022. After utilizing a number of subpoenas on Comcast for IP addresses and Google for the related Gmail account, police believed Jesse Dehart was the one that was associated with that prior Dropbox account.

On January 10th, 2024, PSP went to Greencastle to speak with Dehart, with them invited in by the latter for a talk. During that interview, Dehart allegedly admitted to having the Dropbox previously but not currently “because of the bad things he was doing with it”. When asked for details, he allegedly admitted to viewing child pornography and uploading it to Dropbox. Additionally, Dehart allegedly admitted to PSP that he “had been using a secondary Snapchat account to talk to underage girls” and exchange sexual material with them. Multiple videos, PSP say, were found on his phone of children in compromised situations. That phone was turned over by Dehart to PSP without incident.

Jesse Dehart is free on an unsecured bail of $100,000 bail.
