GREENCASTLE—Greencastle Borough Council voted unanimously Monday to accept, with regret, the resignation of Borough Manager Lorraine Hohl.
Hohl submitted her letter of resignation effective Oct. 22.
“This decision has not come easily,” she admitted to council.
Hohl was appointed assistant borough manager in January 2019 and moved to manager in October of last year, after the resignation of former manager Eden Ratliff.
She has worked for the borough since June 2017, when she was hired as finance/human resources manager.
“She’s one of the best employees I’ve ever seen,” said Councilman Joel Amsley. “There are people on this council who made her job almost impossible … consistently badgering her … asking questions … that stuff has got to stop.”
“For being a small lady in a short period of time, you’re leaving big shoes to fill,” added Council President Steven Miller.
Miller said council is seeking to fill Hohl’s position immediately.
“We’re in the process of soliciting,” he said. “There are people submitting applications.”
A job description is available on the borough website, greencastlepa.gov. Interested applicants can send a cover letter, resume and three professional references in an envelope marked “confidential” to Borough of Greencastle, Attn: Personnel Committee-Borough Manager Selection, 60 N. Washington St. Greencastle, PA. 17225.
