Full blaze engulfs Welsh Run Road home in Montgomery Township this morning

UPDATES: The family affected by the fire, the Egolfs, look to be safe following the devastating fire. Fire crews may still be in the area or will return to the home for continuing operations to eliminate the remnants of the fire. At this time, it appears visually that the home is a total loss. The cause of the fire and examination has been turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall’s office.

The Egolf family; a young couple and their beautiful daughters lost everything in a house fire this morning on Welsh Run Rd. They were moving into their house this weekend and had their belongings in the house getting ready for official moving day.

MMP&W and the Red Cross are accepting donations to help this young family replace what they lost. Here is what is needed:

Girls clothes:

  • 8yr old girls & 4t/2t
  • girls shoes: women’s 3 1/2, 9t & 6t.

Women’s clothes:

  • pants size 6
  • shirts-M
  • shoes- 7

Men’s clothes:

  • pants- 32×34
  • shirt- XL
  • shoes- 14

Kids toys:

  • drawing supplies/craft supplies
  • Horses/dolls
  • Bluey/dolls

Household supplies:

  • food (no allergies)
  • bedding/sheets

The MMP&W Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company will be accepting donations from today (5/22) until next Friday (5/31). Please drop off items at the firehouse any time of the day!


22 May 2024- A fire at a home on Welsh Run Road this morning brought out multiple fire companies and looks to be a significant if not total loss for the owners. MMP&W Volunteer Fire Fighters were dispatched along with other companies to the home in Montgomery Township before 4am this morning.

At this point, the conditions of people or animals inside of the home are unknown, as is the cause of the fire.

The fire has been put out by first responders and Welsh Run Road is open fully to all travelers. Any updates on the situation will likely come from Pennsylvania State Police.
