Franklin Fire and others respond to fire at Chambersburg Career Tech

08 December 2022- Nobody was hurt and students returned to normal soon after but Franklin County Career and Tech Center was beset by firetrucks and first responders this afternoon. Reported as a fire in their welding shop, firefighters from Franklin Fire Company arrived to find smoke throughout the area. Finding a burning air unit in the welding shop, the volunteers dismantled the unit and started smoke removal. All was completed in about an hour.

Students were able to return to the classroom shortly after firefighters finished their smoke removal, with Franklin Fire confirming it was a small and isolated incident. Students are back in classrooms and able to function normally for class.

Thank you to all those at the Franklin Fire Company and everyone who responded to Career Tech! Photos are courtesy of Franklin Fire Company.
