Franklin County PSP Roundup: Troopers looking for stolen 1973 pickup, more

05 February 2024- A Saint Thomas man is behind bars today after allegedly running from police after a welfare check. Troopers were initially dispatched to the 7300 block of Lincoln Way West, Saint Thomas Township on January 29th.

Upon talking with the arrestee, Charles Burkett, 33, of Saint Thomas, PSP learned that Burkett had multiple active NCIC warrants. Upon attempting to take him into custody, Burkett allegedly fled on foot from the Troopers.

Burkett was eventually detained by PSP Troopers and charged with both resisting arrest and evading arrest.

A McConnellsburg woman is facing retail theft charges following an incident at Walmart in Chambersburg. Troopers were dispatched around 10:30pm on January 31st to the Walmart on Lincoln Way East for an under-ring theft. Troopers eventually cited Connie Seville for non-traffic citation retail theft after it was allegedly found she stole just over $43 worth of food.

An unnamed Chambersburg man is facing charges of harassment and potentially more following a domestic incident in Quincy Township last month. Troopers say that around 1pm on January 3rd, the unnamed 30 year old Chambersburg man had engaged in a physical altercation with an unnamed 30 year old Chambersburg woman at a home on Grindstone Hill Road. During the fight, that man subsequently fired one round from a gun into the floor of the home.

Listed in the home at the time of the incident were juveniles aged 12, 9, 5, and 4 in addition to the 30 year old female victim. Charges were subsequently filed.

A small fight between residents at a care facility eventually ended up with no charges being filed, per the Pennsylvania State Police. Troopers say they were dispatched to the facility on Franklin Farm Lane just before 8am on January 30th for a conflict between two residents.

Troopers eventually determined that the subject of the incident had slapped a 69 year old McConnellsburg woman and a 76 year old Waynesboro woman. Due to “mental cognitive issues”, no charges were filed.

PSP are looking for the public’s help following the theft of a vintage pickup truck at a location outside of Greencastle this month. Troopers took a report of a stolen motor vehicle, a 1973 Green Chevrolet C10 pickup truck, just after 9:30am on February 2nd.

Troopers say that the vehicle was stolen from a location in the 12900 block of Williamsport Pike in Antrim Township. Anyone with information should contact PSP Chambersburg.
