Franklin County PSP Roundup: Funny money at Shippensburg Rite Aid, more

23 February 2024- A Newville woman is facing child endangerment charges following an incident earlier this month at a Chambersburg area Family Dollar. Troopers were dispatched to a reported welfare check on a vehicle at the Family Dollar Location in the 4000 block of Lincoln Way East.

Troopers arrived just after 2:30pm on February 9th to find Christina Dooney, 36, of Newville, in the parking lot with her children in a 2011 Kia Sorento. Dooney, Troopers say, was arrested after they suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She was arrested, processed, and released by PSP.


Troopers are investigating a reported forgery/counterfeiting incident at the Rite Aid in Shippensburg earlier this week. Troopers say that they were called to the store around 4:30p on February 21st for a reported theft by fraud or forgery. Limited details of the case have been made public at this time but anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact PSP-Chambersburg.


An assault on staff at a nursing home is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Troopers in Chambersburg. Troopers say that a 28 year old Clear Spring woman, a 37 year old Waynesboro woman, and a 31 year old Mercersburg woman were all victims of an assault around 1:30am on February 12th. This incident took place, Troopers say, at a location on Franklin Farm Lane in Guilford Township.

There is no listed perpetrator of the crime at this time, but PSP have classified the incident as an assault resulting in bodily injury but with no weapon.
