Franklin Co. PSP Roundup: theft from Fayetteville Fire Company, assault of a 93 y/o

18 September 2023- Pennsylvania State Police are looking for information related to a reported vandalism of a vehicle on Interchange Drive, Greene Township. Troopers responded around 5:50pm on September 16th to the 3500 block of Interchange Drive for a criminal mischief that vandalized a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe.

A Waynesboro man is looking at DUI charges following a traffic stop in August. Charles Pryor, 59, of Waynesboro was stopped by PSP Troopers around 2am on August 3rd in the Borough of Waynesboro for traffic violations. When police spoke to Pryor, they allegedly found that he was under the influence of alcohol.


A Shippensburg man is looking at Criminal Mischief charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle into another car owned by an 87 year old Spring Run man. Barton Weikel, 65, of Shippensburg is looking at charges stemming from the incident.

Troopers were called to a location on Main Street, Fannett Township around 11:20pm on September 3rd for a man driving erratically around a property there. When police arrived, they allegedly observed the man, determined later to be Barton Weikel, ramming his car into another vehicle. Police then removed Weikel from the vehicle before he was transported without incident to jail. The total amount of damage allegedly done amounted to about $350.


A 67 year old Fort Loudon man is looking at harassment charges following an alleged domestic involving a nonagenarian. Troopers were dispatched to a home on Path Valley Road, Metal Twp, for an inactive domestic around 2:50pm on September 11th.

When police arrived, they allegedly found that the unnamed Fort Loudon man had pushed a 93 year old man to the ground. The incident is currently being investigated by PSP-Chambersburg.


The Fayetteville Fire Company is out some signage after a theft earlier this summer. Troopers were dispatched to their HQ on Fayetteville Main Street just before 9:30am on August 21st to find a no trespassing sign with a metal pole missing from the department’s grounds. The value of the pole and sign come in at $200. Anyone with information should contact PSP-Chambersburg.
