Franklin Co. PSP Roundup: Life flight called for Sunday morning motorcycle crash, more

06 October 2023- Pennsylvania State Police say that an October 1st motorcycle crash on Anthony Highway, Guilford Township, sent one man life flighted for trauma care. Troopers responded near the area of Orchard Road and Anthony Highway around 7am on Sunday for a one vehicle crash.

When they arrived, police found a 37 year old Chambersburg man who had been in a crash hours before they arrived. Troopers say sometime between 12:30am and 1am, the man failed to negotiate a curve on Anthony Highway, which lead him to drive his 2021 Harley-Davidson into a grassy field. The bike continued after dropping, eventually crashing into a tree and stopping after.

Police say that the man laid on the ground for several hours before walking northbound on PA-997. After police and EMS were finally alerted to his position, he was transported by Fayetteville EMS, with him subsequently being flown to York Trauma Hospital. The man’s current condition is unknown.


Troopers announce the arrest of a Shippensburg man following a crash involving a pickup truck with a trailer and a sedan. That man’s name has not been released, but PSP releases show he is a 26 year old Shippensburg man.

Police say that around 5:50pm on September 10th, the man was driving in the area of Orrstown Road when he crashed into a Hyundai Accent driven by another Shippensburg man. PSP continue to investigate.


An incident at the Roxbury Treatment Center in Southampton Township leads to charges against a 22 year old Harrisburg woman. Police were called around 10am on October 5th for an altercation between patients.

While on scene, police allegedly learned that a verbal fight occurred between the unnamed Harrisburg woman and an older woman, with the former kicking the victim. A non-traffic citation for harassment was issued for the Harrisburg woman.


Troopers are investigating a reported theft of thousands of dollars stolen from a Franklin County business. A theft by deception was reported to police that occurred over a time period of over three months from Forrester Farm Equipment in Chambersburg.

Police say the theft occurred via email, with money wired in two transactions of $10,361.62 each time.

Another elder scam claims another victim in Franklin County as it looks like a 75 year old Chambersburg man is out over $800 today. Police say they were alerted just before 9:40am on August 29th that a scam was perpetrated against a 75 year old man from Hamilton Township.

Police say that the theft, which occurred on Hamilton Avenue, ended up with the victim out $840. PSP Chambersburg continue to investigate.
