Franklin Co. PSP Roundup: 15 year old involved in retail theft, St Thomas man charged in Walmart theft, more

22 January 2024- Another arrest is made following a shoplifting incident in Guilford Township’s Walmart location near Chambersburg. Pennsylvania State Police say that they were dispatched just after 10:30pm on January 9th for a man attempting to take electronics without paying for them.

Troopers eventually determined that Anthony Cook, 35, of Saint Thomas, had taken a 43″ Samsung 4k smart TV off the shelves then proceeded through a self checkout without paying for it. Surveillance footage of the incident was obtained of the incident and charges were subsequently filed.


Another retail theft reportedly involved a 15 year old boy at a Chambersburg consignment shop. Troopers were dispatched on December 18th around 5pm for a reported retail theft involving a juvenile. Police determined that the boy was still on scene and was taken into custody for concealing an item on his person, with Troopers describing the article as a brown wool coat valued at $25.


The disappearance of about $260 worth of tools and a bicycle is being investigated as a theft from a location in Guilford Township. Troopers were initially notified of the theft around midnight on December 24th, 2023 from a location on Greenbriar Terrace, Guilford Township.

Taken following the incident were a Worx Electric leaf blower valued at $100, a hand saw valued at $20, a Craftsman battery valued at $50, and a Roadmaster mountain bike valued at $90.
