Fort Loudon man charged with DUI with children, weed, and crack in the car

30 May 2023- After a May 29th vehicle crash near Fort Loudon Road, a man is behind bars on numerous charges including reckless endangerment. Adam Wayne Orndorff is charged with misdemeanor DUI, three counts of misdemeanor reckless endangerment, two counts of misdemeanor drug possession, and two counts of misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession. Orndorff failed to post bail of $25,000.

Around 10pm on May 29th, Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash where the driver fled the scene. A witness allegedly told police that a car struck the guardrail and continued driving after the crash. Soon after, police were able to execute a traffic stop on a vehicle with front end damage consistent with the crash.

Police talked to Adam Orndorff, who was found to have suspended operating privileges. In the car was an adult and two juveniles with ages of 7 and 2 years old. While speaking with Orndorff, police allegedly saw marijuana on his lap and on the floor of the driver’s side of the vehicle. When asked how recently he smoked, Orndorff allegedly said earlier that day.

Field sobriety tests were conducted on Orndorff, which allegedly showed multiple signs of impairment. Orndorff was taken into custody and later refused toa submit to a blood draw.

The other adult passenger consented to a search of the vehicle. Officers allegedly found marijuana and crack cocaine inside of the cab of the vehicle.

Adam Orndorff is behind bars on $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for June 6th.
