30 December 2022- A Fayetteville man is behind bars on $100,000 bail after allegedly selling crack cocaine to a Waynesboro PD informant. Nikki Lee Smith is charged with felony conspiracy to deliver an illicit substance and felony criminal use of a communications device. Smith is behind bars on $100,000 bail.
Waynesboro PD met with a confidential informant who said that they had set up a drug purchase between them and Nikki Smith. Prior to the sale, the confidential informant got a message allegedly from Nikki Smith’s girlfriend saying “our dude was up here last night but had to leave today but is coming back tomorrow. Got balls of hard and soft for $250, it’s fire, if you need any. He does smaller too but just wanted to let ya know that too”.
During the sale, two men were allegedly spotted in a white vehicle that was parked away from the CI’s vehicle. Shortly after Smith allegedly exited the passenger side of the vehicle and walked to the CI’s vehicle and entered, allegedly selling the crack before leaving for his previous vehicle. Shortly after, police met with the CI who gave them the alleged crack cocaine for later testing at PSP Laboratory.
Smith is behind bars on $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for January 10th.
