Fauci takes the stand: House Select Subcommittee on COVID to grill former NIAID director

08 January 2024- Dr Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, White House Coronavirus Task Force, and advisor to numerous presidents is set to take part in two days of hearings in front of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

This will be Fauci’s first time appearing before Congress since he retired as head of the NIAID on December 31st, 2022. The Subcommittee, which includes Pennsylvania 13’s Congressman Dr. John Joyce, says they have “prepared more than 200 pages of questions and approximately 100 exhibits.

Two days and 14 hours of testimony are set to be conducted with Fauci.

Rep. Joyce said in a statement, “Today, the COVID-19 Select Committee will continue its work to uncover the truth about the CDC’s response to the COVID-19 virus. It is time for Dr. Fauci to answer questions regarding his role in pandemic-era policy failures.”

Fauci was an advisor to presidents dating back to the mid 1980’s, focusing on HIV/AIDS research. In 2019/2020, he was appointed to the aforementioned White House Coronavirus Task Force under then-president Donald Trump.
