HAGERSTOWN, MD – One child is dead and another injured after a crash on Interstate 71 Monday night.
According to emergency responders, traffic on I-70 westbound near the 37 mile marker was shut down for hours near the as Maryland State Police investigated the 7:30 p.m. incident in which two 4-year-olds were struck.
One patient was flown to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., and the other one was taken to Meritus Medical Center.
The investigation into how this happened is continuing and updates will be provided as details are released.
