HAGERSTOWN – On October 30, 2020, at approximately 9:00 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 13600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD, in reference to personal injury motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Emergency Medical Personnel attempted to preformed life saving measures but unfortunately the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.
Preliminarily, the investigation has revealed that a Ford passenger car was traveling northbound on Pennsylvania Avenue, when the vehicle struck the pedestrian who was standing in the middle of the travel lane. At the time of the incident, the area of the roadway was very dark and the pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing.
The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Jonathan George Silverman, 32, of Hagerstown.
The incident remains under investigation, more information will be released when available.
