Interfaith Retreat

March 2 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 26, 2024) — “Let the Spirit Move You” is the theme of this year’s annual Interfaith Retreat, hosted by the Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC), Saturday, March 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shepherd’s Spring Camp & Retreat Center in Sharpsburg.

The day of exploration, creativity and connection will begin with “Creative Spark”, a guided meditation and drawing experience with local artist and art educator Jennie Avila.  No previous art experience is necessary. Following lunch, Dr. Lyle Wilson of Winchester Qigong will lead a “robust” introduction to Wu Ji or Primordial Qigong: the 5 virtues associated with the 5 Elements of Classical Chinese Medicine.

The final session is “Listening for the Spirit: The Poetry of Rumi” with Sara Towe Horsfall, Ph.D., Professor of Sociology at Frederick Community College and retired professor at Texas Wesleyan University, who describes the workshop as “an opportunity to allow the spirit of poetry to move us in beauty and words.”

Registration fee is $50 and includes lunch and all materials for the five-hour retreat. Deadline for registration is February 16; to register, go to: https://2024HARCretreat.eventbrite.com.
