The City of Hagerstown is pleased to announce the lineup for the 2021 Imagine Hagerstown Fourth Friday Music Series finale on September 24. The event takes place from 5-8 pm in University Plaza, 50 West Washington Street, and admission is free of charge.
Headlining the evening is the indie roots band The Woodshedders, weaving a musical tapestry consisting of honky tonk, Gypsy, Appalachian, and vintage rock n’ roll. The Woodshedders pride themselves on playing a set list filled with fun and danceable selections. The 5-piece band (guitar, bass, sax, fiddle, and drums) has played at venues near and far, including the Red Wing Roots Music Festival, the Deep Roots Mountain Revival, the Mountain Stage New Song Fest, The Hippodrome, and WAMU’s Capital Americana. They are also the host band of Virginia’s celebrated Watermelon Park Fest.
Opening the evening is Rudy and The Bluefish, a Hagerstown-based band formed in 1998 with a mission to keep the blues alive. In addition to the blues, the group delivers rhythm and blues, funk, and rock n’ roll, played by four seasoned musicians.
Imagine Hagerstown Fourth Friday is a BYO event! Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and get a takeout meal from one of downtown’s terrific restaurants. Alcohol in non-breakable containers is permitted.
Event goers should plan their travel in advance, as the Thunder in the Square car show is taking place simultaneously and several major downtown streets will be closed beginning at 5pm. Driving directions to avoid street closures can be found at www.imaginehagerstown.org/parking.
