City Park Fall Fest – Hagerstown

September 19, 2020 @ 6:00 am - 10:00 pm

After considerable discussion, our City Park Fall Fest Committee has decided to cancel the annual City Park Fall Fest as originally planned. This decision was made in the interest of the health and safety of the community, as the festival draws very large crowds to City Park.

However, in an effort to keep the community spirit that the popular event fosters alive, we are planning virtual and socially distant group activities and events designed to inspire the exploration of the City’s parks and facilities on Saturday, September 19.

All activities and events are FREE. Some require pre-registration. Below is a snapshot of the daylong schedule:

  • 9am, Outdoor Yoga Class in the City Park band shell area #7207
  • 11am, Outdoor Zumba for Kids (and families) in the City Park band shell area #7208
  • 11am & 1pm, Potomac Tribe Troop 2 Dancers on the Hager House front lawn
  • 12pm, Virtual Doll Making #7205
  • 2pm, Geocache Scavenger Hunt starting at the City Park west pavilion #6887
  • 3pm, Virtual Have-Fun-with-Paint Class #7204
  • 4pm, Livestream Concert Special with The Wailers, presented by Bester Community of Hope
  • 6pm, Live Music in the band shell with children’s entertainer, Ray Owen
  • 7pm, Outdoor Movie at the City Park band shell featuring ‘The Goonies’ (rated PG)
  • 7pm, Family Night Virtual Dance Party with DJ Kopec, presented by Bester Comunity of Hope
  • 9pm/dark, Fireworks. Watch safety from home, presented by Bester Community of Hope

The 5th Annual South Side Community Block Party, brought to you by Bester Community of Hope, our program partner, is going virtual this year also! Enjoy book readings by local “celebrities”, a cooking demonstration with Washington County Free Library, and a concert performance by The Wailers just for the neighborhood! Make sure you stick around for intermission and watch the 30-minute special celebrating the south end featuring residents, students and friends. After the concert, DJ Kopec, official DJ of the Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders, keeps the celebration going with a Family Dance Night. And the evening culminates with a spectacular display by Zambelli Fireworks!! All the details will be posted on the Bester Community of Hope App
