2023 Chili Contest Rules
Chili is defined for this contest as any kind of meat, or beans, or combination cooked with chili peppers, various other spices and ingredients. Both meat and vegetarian chilies are acceptable but will not be judged separately. All chili must be homemade.
All entries must be prepared at home and brought to Williamsport Redmen Club (16129 Lappans Road, Williamsport, MD) on the day of the contest at 11:00 AM. The judging will begin at 12:00 PM.
Winners will be announced at 3:00 PM. There will be prizes for first and second place.
Contestants are encouraged to bring at least 4 quarts of chili in a crock pot to keep the chili warm. (140 ̊) Please bring an extension cord; electrical outlets will be provided.
Provide a ladle or serving utensil with your entry. No sampling of chili is allowed directly from the cooking pot. If you have special toppings, you will need to supply those as well.
You must provide a list of all ingredients on an index card being sure to include all items, even the type of oil used and if you sauté or sweat any ingredients before adding them to your chili.
