EMTs respond to drug call in Fayetteville, end up allegedly assaulted in ambulance by patient

21 June 2023- EMS personnel have to stop their ambulance on the side of Lincoln Way East while transporting their patient to the hospital after he allegedly begins assaulting one of the techs. Brandon Lynn Dehart is charged with felony aggravated assault against designated individuals, misdemeanor simple assault, summary harassment, and summary disorderly conduct. Dehart is free after posting bail of $25,000.

Around 9:30pm on June 14th, Fayetteville EMS were dispatched to a home on W Main Street for a reported 36 year old man in distress. That man, identified as Brandon Dehart upon arrival, allegedly told techs that he had consumed an unknown amount of a controlled substance and was subsequently transported to Chambersburg Hospital for evaluation.

While driving along to the hospital, the ambulance had to stop in the area of 1330 Lincoln Way East after Dehart allegedly became irate and started hitting one of the technicians. According to the EMT, Dehart began sweating inside of the ambulance and the air conditioning was turned on inside of the car. While checking Dehart’s pulse, he allegedly became irate and busted through the belts he was attached with. Dehart then allegedly hit the EMT in her chest and assaulting her, all the while the tech began to call for her partner in the front seat. The assault allegedly kept happening until the ambulance was pulled to the side of the road and the other EMT helped subdue Dehart until PSP Troopers arrived. This series of events was corroborated by the driving EMT.

Brandon Dehart is free after posting bail of $25,000. His preliminary hearing is set for June 27th.
