Emergency repairs needed for I-81 stretch in Carlisle

20 March 2024- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that due to deteriorating pavement conditions, emergency repairs will be made tomorrow on northbound Interstate 81 near Carlisle in Cumberland County. The work location is at Mile Marker 50, approximately one mile north of Route 641.

Weather permitting, repairs will begin at 9:00 AM TODAY, Wednesday, March 20. Work is expected to continue into late evening. 

A right lane restriction will be in place while this work is performed. There may be delays. 

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone. 

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., is the contractor for this work.
