Dr. Joyce Votes Against CR that Fails to Fund Border Security

Washington, DC – Thursday, 18 January 2024, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) released the following statement on his vote against the Senate Amendment to H.R. 2872, the Further Additional Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act.

“Two weeks ago, I saw illegal immigrants crossing into the United States firsthand in Eagle Pass, TX. Today, I opposed the Continuing Resolution because it failed to include necessary provisions, like those included in H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, to end the national security crisis at our border. Every day that passes without action is a missed opportunity to end this historic crisis – and any legislation to fund the federal government must include strong border security provisions to keep our nation safe.”
